We are always on the lookout for new Staff. If you feel that you would be able to help, there are three ways.

The first is simply by volunteering to help out with a particular task. We often need lifts to our various trips, so letting Rob, our Captain know you can help with small things like that would be great.

The second way of helping is by becoming an "Instructor". Instructors basically bring a skill to the group once every so often. It might be a monthly First Aid class, or maybe something like basic carpentry. Anything like that is always a welcome addition to our busy schedule. Again, please see Rob if you can help in that way.

The third, and most challenging, way to help our company is to become an Officer. Officers are the people that come to each meeting and make sure the youngsters are safe, and entertained. Obviously, it helps if you have some prior experience of working with children, but we offer a full training programme through the North West Region Training Centre in Kirkham. If you would like to become an officer in the Brigade, you must remember that the Captain, the Church, and the Batallion must approve you, and you must take the Youth Leader Training course.

Please consider helping out within the Brigade. We desperately need the support of the Church and the Community if we are to provide a safe and stimulating environment for the youngsters in our care.

For more information on becoming a volunteer with the 1st Morecambe and Heysham Boys' Brigade, please contact Rob at r.henderson@lancaster.ac.uk or 01524 61683
